Kathmandu, 29 March (2021) – The government formed a three-member negotiating team led by powerful Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Magar ‘Wadal’ to address the demands of the Tharu Struggle Committee.
Government spokesperson and Minister of Information and Communication Technology Parbat Gurung informed about the decision on Monday during a press meet at the ministry.
Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai and former parliamentarian Bhagawati Chaudhary are members of the team.
Gurung said that the team has been formed to address 19 point demands of the Tharu community including the release of parliamentarian Resham Chaudhary.
Minister Thapa had gone to Maitighar Mandala few days back and committed to fulfil the demands of Tharu community. Tharu Welfare society has launched agitation programmes with different demands.
